HIV and partner violence: Implications for HIV voluntary counseling and testing progams in Dar es salaam

The report is based on a study of 67 men, women and couples who were Muhimbili Health Information Centre (MHIC) and 245 women follow up cases for testing and counseling. Nearly a third of these were HIV positive, almost half were married, and 50% were between the ages of 18 and 29 and less than 7 years of education. The study followed WHO ethical and safety protocols for conducting research on violence against women.
