Benefit streams from mining in Tanzania

This report looks at the management of social and economic benefit streams in two mining communities in northern Tanzania; Geita and Mererani. Case studies within the report show that at the local level, poor local governance has opened up for corruption in benefit streams management. Moreover, in Mererani, development projects sponsored by a large scale mining company have resulted in ethnic secessionism and affected local political processes.
